Joseph
Dreamer & Governor
Overview
Joseph was the eleventh son of Jacob and the first son of Rachel. His story, found in Genesis 37-50, is one of the most detailed narratives in the Bible.
Favored by his father and given a special coat, Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery out of jealousy. Through God's providence, he rose from slave to prisoner to becoming the second most powerful person in Egypt.
Joseph's ability to interpret dreams, given by God, proved instrumental in his rise to power and in saving Egypt and his own family from a devastating famine.
