Mary

Mother of Jesus
Overview

Mary was a young Jewish woman from Nazareth chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Her story begins in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

When the angel Gabriel announced she would conceive by the Holy Spirit, Mary humbly submitted to God's will, saying "I am the Lord's servant." Her faith and obedience made her one of the most honored women in Scripture.

Mary witnessed Jesus' entire earthly ministry, from His miraculous birth to His crucifixion and beyond, experiencing both great joy and deep sorrow as His mother.
