Spiritual gifts are supernatural abilities given by the Holy Spirit to believers for the purpose of building up the church and serving others.
Unlike natural talents, these gifts are distributed by the Spirit according to His will and are empowered by God for His glory.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul compares the church to a human body. Just as the body has many parts with different functions, the church has many members with different gifts.
No gift is superior to another, and all are necessary for the healthy functioning of the body of Christ. The Spirit distributes gifts as He wills for the common good.
Chapter 13, the famous "love chapter," reminds us that even the greatest gifts are worthless without love. Love is the motivation and measure for using our spiritual gifts.
Understanding spiritual gifts helps believers discover their unique role in God's kingdom and encourages the church to work together in unity and love.
